New ‘Low Profile’ Product Line of In-flight Entertainment Equipment

Flight Display Systems, an in-flight entertainment company, announced today the introduction of its 15″ and 20″ Low Profile liquid crystal display screens (FD151CV-LP, $5350 and FD201CV-LP, $8,200) and Low Profile DVD player (FD932DVD-LP, $855).
“We are delivering the largest entertainment picture in the smallest space,” said Tom Austin, Jr. “Our Low Profile series of cabin displays provide outstanding picture quality at a great value, and our DVD player is half the size of industry standard units now available.”
Flight Display Systems’ Low Profile cabin displays are specifically designed to be mounted directly to the exterior of the aircraft bulkhead or behind a wall, where space is at a premium. Each Low Profile LCD maintains the high quality of their bulkier predecessors, featuring industry-leading brightness, 176 degree viewing angles and S-Video, composite and VGA inputs for multiple video sources. Depth reductions for the FD151CV-LP and FD201CV-LP Low Profile displays are 37% and 25%, respectively. Length and width specifications remain constant with LCD size.

The Low Profile DVD player is less than one inch thick and ideal for installation in compact aircraft cabin consoles. Two FD932DVD-LP units can fit in the place of one standard DVD player. The system has worldwide capability and is compatible with DVD, VCD, Super VCD, CD and MP3 discs. With over 500 lines of horizontal resolution, the Low Profile DVD player is an attractive upgrade for retrofit customers.

Both the 15″ Low Profile LCD monitor and the Low Profile DVD player are sold with Parts Manufacturing Authority (PMA) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and are available for immediate delivery. The 20″ Low Profile LCD is also in stock and PMA on this unit is expected soon. DAC International is the distributor for all Flight Display Systems products, which are sold through authorized installation centers.
